Europeu do ano e não governante do ano!
Ao contrário do que o PD noticia Barroso foi eleito "Europeu do ano 2006"! O "Governante do ano" foi atribuido a uma senhora! Angela Merkel! Tal pode ser visto no site da RTP! Envio um texto encontrado algures na Net que confitma a minha correcção ao PD.

I want to inform you that last night, I accepted on behalf of all of those that work in the Commission the award of "European of the Year" given at the European Voice Gala dinner.
When accepting this award, I said that I was "very grateful, on my own behalf and on behalf of all of those who work in the European Commission daily, and I would say very often nightly. I am speaking about very good and competent staff who serve the European Commission with distinction and who work for the good of Europe." I underlined that this distinction is a prize for the hard work of the institution that seeks to create a united and strong Europe. I am also very happy to announce today that the Council and European Parliament have demonstrated their recognition of the commitment and hard work of the officials in the Commission by rejecting the proposal to cut the number of officials.
